A great time was had by all who joined us on Thursday, March 23 for the 2nd edition of Comedy Night in support of the OutCare Foundation. Co-chaired by Paul Mussell and Michael Hughes, this event featured comedians Todd Reid, Michael Lifshitz, Paul Mussell, and Denis Grignon, who all generously donated the talent for this event. Over $7,000 was raised to support the palliative care needs in our community. To view photos from the event, click here.
Todd Reid: Todd has been performing stand up comedy across Canada for the past 15 years. Todd used to ad-lib his lines in rehearsal for the school Christmas plays. This made his classmates laugh and forced his teacher to remove him from the annual Christmas productions. It was then that he realized comedy wouldn’t only get him out of school early but was also to become an enjoyable career.
Michael Lifshitz: A lost bet over a souvlaki dinner in 2006 led Michael to perform standup comedy. His goal? That he will make you laugh so hard, you will not be able to walk straight either. Michael has performed throughout Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto and most recently was a finalist in Cracking up the Capital’s inaugural Comedy Competition.
Paul Mussell: If laughter is good for the soul, comic Paul Mussell has cornered the market. Audiences love his blend of rural humor that pokes fun at farm life and touches the common thread in everyone. In over a dozen years as a professional entertainer, Paul has delighted Canadian Audiences in hundreds of shows and on national television and radio.
Denis Grignon has been doing stand-up comedy for 25+ years. He’s always been more comfortable with an act that works above the neck, not below the belt. It’s why he’s one of the forces behind the No Foul Language Comedy Tour, which has twice been recorded for CBC Radio’s Laugh Out Loud.
