Campaign for Comfort

Helping equip our region’s hospices

The Campaign for Comfort was launched to help hospices across Eastern Ontario. Hospices provide compassionate care in a home-like setting which is valued by families and individuals at end-of-life. To offer the best care possible, they need specialized equipment which they simply cannot afford.

Donations to the Campaign for Comfort are used to purchase equipment for Beth Donovan Hospice, Hospice Renfrew, Hospice Care Ottawa‘s May Court Hospice, Madawaska Valley Hospice, Diane Morrison Hospice, and Roger’s House.

Local hospices depend on fundraising to make ends meet,” says Lisa Sullivan, executive director, Hospice Care Ottawa. “We simply cannot afford to purchase all the equipment required to meet the needs of palliative patients at different stages of care. The Campaign for Comfort fills an important gap in palliative care. It helps us to respond to patients’ needs much faster than before.”

” The nursing staff find that the lifts much improve the safety and comfort for the children being transferred. The ceiling lifts facilitate proper positioning of children and youth in their wheelchairs.” Megan Wright, Executive Director, Roger’s House
