Funding support focuses on charitable, registered healthcare service providers who receive little or no government funding. Foundation funding is provided to develop new programs or to expand existing programs/services to deliver out-of-hospital care to a larger portion of the community.

The following criteria must be satisfied before an application for funding receives serious consideration:
- Funding will only be awarded to organizations/services within the City of Ottawa and Eastern Ontario who are recognized by Revenue Canada as a registered charity
- The financial need of the organization must be demonstrated
- The healthcare service provider must meet the needs of the patient or family population being served
- The applicant organization must be proven fiscally responsible
- The organization must demonstrate its willingness and ability (in a written plan) to independently raise funds to ensure the continuum of the program
- The organization must agree to partner with or assist the OutCare Foundation to create awareness for the Foundation within the population it serves and the community as a whole; and
- Programs/services delivered by the organization must benefit the residents of Ottawa and the Ottawa Valley
Funding will not be granted if it is requested for one of the following purposes:
- deficit reduction
- capital or building campaigns
- purchase of capital equipment
- research and development
- individuals
- administrative costs
When preparing an application for funding, please include the following information:
- a list of the organization’s Board of Directors
- the current operating budget
- the most recent financial statement
- a written plan for future fundraising activities
Requests for funding are reviewed on a quarterly basis by a committee of the Foundation’s Board of Directors. Applications for funding are accepted on an ongoing basis; grants are awarded within the parameters of available funds.
