The OutCare Foundation has been granting funds and donating seed money to help deliver healthcare services in our community for more than 20 years.
Previously known as the Riverside Hospital Foundation, the organization was renamed after the restructuring of Ottawa-area acute care hospitals in 1998. Under the direction of its Board of Directors and with approval of its donors, the Foundation refocused its mission to assist not-for-profit healthcare service providers that deliver care outside the hospital environment. The OutCare Foundation provides the funds, so caregivers can provide the care.
The goals and objectives of the OutCare Foundation are simple...to raise funds and public awareness for the urgent and escalating need to support non-profit organizations that deliver out-of-hospital healthcare; and to provide them with the much needed funding so they can continue caring for individuals and their families in our community.
Often organizations assisted by the OutCare Foundation must focus the bulk of their resources on delivering services to care for their patients and clients. They may also lack the resources and expertise to undertake significant fundraising activities that would allow them to finance the expansion or initiation of additional programs and services on their own. That’s where the Foundation provides additional support.
Working with our funded partners, the Foundation’s staff and Board of Director’s may organize and stage campaign specific fundraising activities to assist individual partner organizations. So in addition to providing financial support, the Foundation frequently offers direct fundraising assistance where one or more partners is the beneficiary of a portion of the net proceeds which may be shared between the partner(s) and the Foundation.
