Funding awarded to provide rehabilitative therapy in communication skills for those individuals who have suffered a stroke or head injury. |
2. COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER OF KANATA, GOULBOURNE AND WEST CARLETON - $40,000 |
Funding awarded to develop and open an Alzheimer Day Center. |
3. CUMBERLAND HOME SUPPORT - $34,284 |
Funding awarded to assist seniors and handicapped adults to remain independent and to provide the means for the client to remain in their own homes. |
4. THE GLEBE CENTER - $40,000 |
Funding awarded to develop a program for those individuals
suffering from Alzheimer's disease to provide a transportation program to enable the client to attend an existing Alzheimer's Day Program. |
5. HOSPICE AT MAY COURT - $126,000 |
Funding awarded to enlarge the Hospice Day-Away Program.
The day provides emotional and physical support to terminally ill individuals
as well as to provide a time of respite for the caregiver.
Additional funding was also awarded to the Hospice in support of the "House on the River" project, an 11-bed residential program for end-of-life care. |
6. PALLIATIVE CARE OUTREACH PROGRAM - $115,400 |
Funding awarded to provide and increase nursing staff for the program. |
